Cuepacs president Datuk Omar Osman said the gathering, organised by the congress, has been pushed back to a later date as Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak could not make it on March 12, the initial date.
He added that Cuepacs would discuss with officers from Najib’s office today about the programme for the gathering.
Omar said yesterday that the Prime Minister might announce the Government’s response to their proposed review of SBPA, including reviewing the maximum salary scale and the grade structures as well as the salary increase of between 7% and 13% at the gathering.
“About 15,000 civil servants are expected to turn up for the event at Stadium Putra, Bukit Jalil,” he said.
On Feb 23, it was reported in a Malay daily that nine senior officers from Cuepacs met the Prime Minister to convey the feedback they received after travelling around the country.
Cuepacs had voiced its disapproval pertaining to the implementation of SPBA, originally due on Jan 1, leading to the setting up of a special task force to recommend changes to the scheme.
